BARRY GETS CHEEKY We're all getting geared up for Birmingham Pride next weekend, with divas Norma Lewis and Niki Evans taking to the stage. Barry is also going to Cork Pride this year with Niki, and will be catching up with The Cheeky Girls again... WE DIDN'T QUITE HAVE THE FIZZ... So, another Eurovision done, but at least we didn't get 'nil pois' (again!) Congratulatons to Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber and Jade Ewen for getting us in the Top 5. Maybe next year we should bring back Bucks Fizz... they were great at last year's Birmingham Pride, and we reckon they could do just as well on the Norwegian stage next year. Oh, and we just found a snap of these other Eurovision heroes... Brotherhood of Man DARREN CLYNES DOES A JAMIE OLIVER... Here is Darren Clynes at the shoot of his debut video, Teacher Sue. He returned to his old school, St Peter's Primary in Leeds. Clynes said that the school seemed a lot smaller but the dinners had certainly improved. Leeds is already getting behind the single and it already appears on Real Radio Yorkshire's playlist! WE'VE BROUGHT THE (PROMO) BOYS IN... We've enlisted a heavyweight to promote Darren Clynes 'Teacher Sue'...
Download from now, or we'll send the boys round! DID YOU LOVE YOUR TEACHER? Whilst researching his new book, I Loved My Teacher, Barry came across the story of Leeds businessman Darren Clynes, whose obsession with his teacher lasted over two decades. Barry contacted Clynes and inspired him to write 'Teacher Sue', his debut track ode to the St Peter's Primary School teacher. Clynes is returning to the school this week to perform the song to students and to film the video. 'Teacher Sue' is available for download from iTunes or through text-and-buy, just text 'Sue' to 81088. If you've got a story of unrequited (or maybe requited) love for a teacher, then get onto www.pleasemiss.com and leave your story! BARRY HANGS OUT WITH A GRUMPY OLD ROCK STAR We've just got back from the launch of Rick Wakeman's new book "Grumpy Old Rockstar".
The 'Yes' keyboard player treated a select crowd to some of his rockstar tales, and they were just simply, hilarious! If you ever meet the man himself, ask why Norman Wisdom made him say "B***ocks!" PROUD TO BE BRITISH
We are delighted to have been part of the BRIT Awards voting academy again this year. The nominations are being announced at a launch party on Tuesday 20 January 2009, which will be broadcast on ITV2 at 8pm. We wish everyone the best of luck.

Anyone seen my book? Hey Barry,
I was initially expecting a humor book from you, Barry, because of your energetic sense of humor.
Instead, you exceeded my expectations and created a small research book that expresses every term that both industry-ites and upcomers would want to know about our business. You also included very meaningful quotes from a range of performers, who we know and love, including "Music is spiritual, the music business is not" from Van Morrison. But you are spiritual, Barry, you fulfilled a need with a very simple book.
